| Abstract: | The article outlines the history, development and international networking of the Munich art dealer Julius Böhler before, during and immediately after the National Socialist era. The art dealership has always been an important trading center for high-quality cultural goods of all kinds. The article places these activities in their historical context. The focus is on the diverse contacts between the various family members and business partners and their customers, experts and trading partners. The digital edition of the sources allows numerous transactions and trading activities to be traced. However, this does not mean that the evaluation, critical assessment and analysis are complete. On the contrary, only now, with the completion of the transcriptions and through the exchange with the users of the database, can research into the business practices of the Kunsthandlung Julius Böhler begin, inevitably supplementing this cursory overview. |
