Abstract:Picasso was one of the most prolific and polymorphic artists, and a poet who was also passionate about Greek and Latin literature. In 1930 he illustrated the Metamorphoses by Ovid, a series of engravings that, with the frescoes by Giulio Romano, is the perfect echo of Palazzo Te and is at the center of the exhibition Picasso at Palazzo Te. Poetry and salvation. The exhibition, open from 5 September 2024 to 6 January 2025 and curated by Annie Cohen-Solal, historian and essayist, in collaboration with Johan Popelard, heritage curator and head of the collections department at the Musée national Picasso-ParisParis, is accompanied by an illustrated catalogue published by Marsilio Arte and tells the close relationship that links the artistic practice of Picasso and poetry, revealing a little known aspect of his work
