| Abstract: | Zengerova transformační stanice stojí na exponovaném místě Malé Strany. Přestože se její příběh odvíjí už bezmála 100 let a figurují v něm důležití aktéři meziválečného Československa, zůstával význam objektu dlouhou dobu skrytý. Kniha Zengerova transformační stanice: elektřina ve městě, elektřina v architektuře představuje nejen samotnou industriální stavbu, ale na pozadí její komplikované geneze přináší vrstevnatou sondu do formativního období, kdy se utvářela moderní Praha. Publikace byla vydána u příležitosti stejnojmenné výstavy konané ve dnech 22. února - 23. května 2022 v Kunsthalle v Praze. The Zenger Transformer Station stands on an exposed site in Malá Strana. Although its story dates back almost a hundred years and features important actors in interwar Czechoslovakia, the building’s significance has remained hidden for a long time. The book The Zenger Transformer Station: Electricity in the City, Electricity in Architecture not only presents the industrial building itself but also, against the background of its complicated origins, represents a layered investigation into the period when modern Prague was being forged. |
