Abstract:Cet article vise à explorer la relation entre deux importantes institutions dominicaines basées à Valladolid. Toutes deux ont joué un rôle clé dans la promotion et la consolidation de la réforme de l'Ordre en Castille à la fin du xve siècle. La fondation du Colegio de San Gregorio en 1487 par Alonso de Burgos, frère dominicain et évêque de Palencia, sur des terres cédées par le couvent voisin de San Pablo, marque le début de ces relations tortueuses. Cependant, le souhait du prélat, selon les statuts du Collège, était de garantir une vie harmonieuse entre les deux communautés. L'article analyse comment la disposition du collège a été conçue en fonction du passage des frères du couvent au collège, pour suivre des cours universitaires, et vice versa.
Este trabajo pretende explorar la relación entre dos importantes instituciones dominicanas asentadas en Valladolid. Ambas fueron claves en el impulso y consolidación de la reforma de la Orden en Castilla a finales del siglo xv. La fundación del Colegio de San Gregorio en 1487 por parte de Alonso de Burgos, fraile dominico y obispo de Palencia, en unos terrenos cedidos por el contiguo convento de San Pablo dio inicio a estas tortuosas relaciones. Sin embargo, el deseo del prelado, según consta en los estatutos del Colegio, era garantizar una vida en armonía entre las dos comunidades. El trabajo analiza cómo la disposición del Colegio se diseñó pensando en el tránsito de los frailes del convento al colegio, para asistir a los cursos universitarios, y viceversa.
This paper aims to explore the relationship between two important Dominican institutions settled in Valladolid. Both were key to the impulse and consolidation of the reformation of the Order in Castile at the end of the 15th Century. The foundation of the College of San Gregorio in 1487 by Alonso de Burgos, Dominican friar and bishop of Palencia, in a land given by the adjacent convent of San Pablo started these torturous relations. However, the wish of the prelate, according to what is written in the College statutes, was to guarantee a life in harmony between the two communities. The paper analyses how the layout of the College was designed with in mind the transit of the friars from the convent to the college, in order to attend the university courses, and vice-versa.
