Abstract: | The Political Economy of Conflict and Violence against Women shows how political, economic, social and ideological processes intersect to shape conflict related gender-based violence against women. Through feminist interrogations of the politics of economies, struggles for political power and the gender order, this collection reveals how sexual orders and regimes are linked to spaces of production. Crucially it argues that these spaces are themselves firmly anchored in overlapping patriarchies which are sustained and reproduced during and after war through violence that is physical as well as structural. Through an analysis of legal regimes and structures of social arrangements, this book frames militarization as a political economic dynamic, developing a radical critique of liberal peace building and peace making that does not challenge patriarchy, or modes of production and accumulation |

THE
POLITICAL ECONOMY OF CONFLICT AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
SHOWS HOW
POLITICAL,
ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND IDEOLOGICAL PROCESSES
INTERSECT
TO SHAPE CONFLICT RELATED GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AGAINST
WOMEN. THROUGH FEMINIST INTERROGATIONS OF THE POLITICS OF
ECONOMIES, STRUGGLES FOR POLITICAL POWER AND THE
GENDER
ORDER,
THIS
COLLECTION REVEALS HOW SEXUAL ORDERS AND REGIMES ARE LINKED
TO
SPACES
OF PRODUCTION. CRUCIALLY IT
ARGUES
THAT THESE
SPACES
ARE
THEMSELVES FIRMLY ANCHORED IN OVERLAPPING PATRIARCHIES WHICH ARE
SUSTAINED AND REPRODUCED DURING AND AFTER WAR THROUGH VIOLENCE
THAT
IS PHYSICAL AS
WELL
AS STRUCTURAL.
THROUGH
AN ANALYSIS OF LEGAL REGIMES AND STRUCTURES OF SOCIAL
ARRANGEMENTS, THIS BOOK FRAMES
MILITARIZATION
AS A POLITICAL
ECONOMIC DYNAMIC, DEVELOPING A RADICAL CRITIQUE OF LIBERAL
PEACE
BUILDING
AND
PEACE
MAKING THAT
DOES
NOT CHALLENGE PATRIARCHY,
OR MODES OF PRODUCTION AND ACCUMULATION.
'THE
POLITICAL ECONOMY OF CONFLICT AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
SHOWS THAT NEOLIBERALISM AND GLOBALISATION ARE A WAR AGAINST
WOMEN IN PEACE-TIME. THE STRUCTURAL VIOLENCE OF ECONOMIC SYSTEM
FUELS FURTHER CONFLICTS AND WARS, WHICH ARE NOT ABERRATIONS FROM THE
"NORMAL",
BUT ARE A CONTINUATION OF CAPITALIST PATRIARCHY'S WAR AGAINST
NATURE AND WOMEN. MOST IMPORTANT, THIS IMPORTANT BOOK HIGHLIGHTS
HOW THE FEMINIST ETHICS AND ECONOMICS OF CARE CONTRIBUTES TO
DEVELOPING NEW ECONOMIC MODELS FOR FEMINIST PEACEBUILDING.'

spelling | The political economy of conflict and violence against women cases from the South edited by Kumudini Samuel, Claire Slatter and Vagisha Gunasekara London Zed [2019] © 2019 xviii, 245 Seiten Diagramme, Karten 23 cm txt rdacontent n rdamedia nc rdacarrier Literaturhinweise, Register The Political Economy of Conflict and Violence against Women shows how political, economic, social and ideological processes intersect to shape conflict related gender-based violence against women. Through an analysis of legal regimes and structures of social arrangements, this book frames militarization as a political economic dynamic, developing a radical critique of liberal peace building and peace making that does not challenge patriarchy, or modes of production and accumulation Bewaffneter Konflikt (DE-588)4137568-3 gnd rswk-swf Gewalt (DE-588)4020832-1 gnd rswk-swf Politische Ökonomie (DE-588)4115586-5 gnd rswk-swf Frau (DE-588)4018202-2 gnd rswk-swf Entwicklungsländer (DE-588)4014954-7 gnd rswk-swf Women / Violence against Südliche Halbkugel / Konflikt / Frauen / Gewalt gegen Frauen / Sexuelle Gewalt / Geschlechterrolle/Geschlechterverhältnis / Gesellschaftliche Prozesse / Politische Ökonomie / Feminismus / Fallstudie Southern hemisphere / Conflict / Women / Violence against women / Sexual violence / Genders/gender roles / Social processes / Political economy / Feminism / Case studies Sri Lanka / Papua-Neuguinea / Kolumbien / Indien / Uganda / Sudan / Südsudan Sri Lanka / Papua New Guinea / Colombia / India / Uganda / Sudan / South Sudan (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Entwicklungsländer (DE-588)4014954-7 g Bewaffneter Konflikt (DE-588)4137568-3 s Gewalt (DE-588)4020832-1 s Frau (DE-588)4018202-2 s Politische Ökonomie (DE-588)4115586-5 s DE-604 Samuel, Kumudini (DE-588)1193615852 edt Slatter, Claire (DE-588)1193616034 edt Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DE-588)413430-8 isb Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, EPUB The political economy of conflict and violence against women 978-1-78699-613-8 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, PDF The political economy of conflict and violence against women 978-1-78699-612-1 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, MOBI The political economy of conflict and violence against women 978-1-78699-614-5 https://content.ub.hu-berlin.de/monographs/toc/ethnologie/BV046134641.pdf Inhaltsverzeichnis SWB Datenaustausch application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=031514985&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Klappentext SWB Datenaustausch application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=031514985&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
