Abstract:MEFI is the first exhibition dedicated exclusively to the Vitrolles Stadium. Conceived in dialogue with many artists, the exhibition articulates the history of the Vitrolles Stadium, from its genesis to its wanderings, developing its conception and realization through a set of unpublished works still unknown to the public. The MEFI book is the testimony of the history of the Stadium through writings of architects and all the works presented at the exhibition. This book, edited by Arnaud Bizalion was designed to accompany the exhibition MEFI which consists of the presentation of multiple photographic works, artistic performances, films, furniture, original plans, models, as well as drawings and paintings
Beschreibung:The stadium of Vitrolles (located in city of Vitrolles in the Bouches-du-Rhône in Southern France) was inaugurated in 1994 and was built by architect Rudy Ricciotti. It is a black concrete building, built on the site of a former bauxite dump. The building has been closed since 2000. Studies are underway concerning its possible reopening. Since its closure, several projects exist to reopen the stadium of Vitrolles. With a capacity of 5,000 seats, it would be the fifth largest space in the metropolis of Aix-Marseille-Provence
