Damit spiegelt das Heft den mehrmaligen Paradigmenwechsel der Sprachwissenschaft der vergangenen fünfzig Jahre, von der historischen Sprachwissenschaft über den klassischen Strukturalismus (Morphologie) zur generativen Grammatik (Syntax und Semantik) zu pragmalinguistischen, textbezogenen Arbeiten Main description: The third edition of this study aid (first edition 1972; second edition 1986) reflects the progress made in research on the topic. It is based on a descriptive and functional approach, provides a brief introduction to historical aspects, discusses morphological, syntactic and semantic issues and gives examples of the most important kinds of word-formation. Text-related and psycholinguistic aspects are also dealt with. The workbook thus mirrors the various paradigmatic shifts linguistics has gone through in the last 50 years, from historical linguistics to classical structuralism (morphology) and from there to generative grammar (syntax and semantics) and paralinguistic, text-related approaches |
