The wider population was notified by the government for events and injustices through slogans. With the years passing and the organizations rapidly growing, the need for informing the population about the government activities in a broader way increased. This was done through illegal press which after the seventies started manifesting itself eminently in Kosovo. For the first time, a group of young people, members of the organization Besa Kombëtare , whose activities were held in the Peja gymnasium, took the initiative to publish a newspaper which initially was thought to be issued monthly. It was determined that they name the newspaper with the symbolic name Drita e lirisë . The group was able to publish only three issues. Unfortunately, the members were 509 ______ Shtypi ilegal shqiptar në Kosově (1945 - 1999)______ quickly discovered, arrested and convicted with the group of Marie Shllaku during 1946. The young group from Peja, inspired by the democratic soul of young age, far from the communist reality, created hatred against the enemy, through disappointment and promises given during the war. They were let down by the occupational governance in Kosovo. This involvement and all the activity was not enough for the group of youngsters whose activities were illegal in the gymnasium of Peja; they were unsatisfied and they were looking for new ways and opportunities to do more for their people, to start new organizations and to have their own press where they can express their ideals, aims and the directions where these illegal organizations are headed with nationalistic aspirations. It was determined that for faster inflow of information, initially they were to issue a newspaper that would be put out twice a month with more issues to follow. The organization of this group would be called DRÏTA E LIRISË . The members of the group simultaneously agreed for this anointment with die editor being Skender Rizaj, and editorial members: Viktor Gashi, Ramiz Kelmendi, Shefqet Kelmendi, Engjëü Berisha, Osman Basha dhe Kamber Pajaziti. After the decision was made, all the work was collected and processed by the editorial members, and then read, analyzed and formatted by the main editor. After all the work was done the materials completed, they were sent to Viktor Gashi. The merit of this newspaper was that it came out and it informed the opinion during exceptional times, when Kosovo was struggling between life and national disappearance. As the years passed, the number of organizations that were active in Kosovo increased, however, not all of them had the same information techniques. Some of these organizations were still informing the people through slogans making the information poor. 510 Prof. Dr. Sabile Keçmezi - Basha With the formation of the Revolutionary Group , the approach towards information changed as well. The group members decided to issue another illegal newspaper called Zeri i Koso vës , which was issued twice in total. As opposed to the newspaper Drita e Irrise , the newspaper Grupi Revolucionar was much more advanced. The aim of this organization was to work illegally and to create an adaptive climate through which the century long goals of Kosovo to unite all the Albanian lands would come true. In order to do more successful illegal work and to save the deep conspiracies of its members, the board members of the organization created nick names and organized the working trios . In the meantime they created and published Paraprojektin of the illegal organizations. Since the beginning, it was said that Grupi Revolucionar was the leader of the future Party that will arise from healthy elements, which will be the scout of the people in the fight against the enemy. Grupi Revolucionar oriented its activity in expansion - as a primary condition for creating the scout party for the unification of the country. In itself it will include the revolutionary elements of our people, which, under the governance of this Party , through an armed revolution will fight for the national union. Grupi Revolucionar was responsible in front of the people. Things included in Paraprojekt were: 2. the membership with the Grupin Revolucionar , 3. Rights and responsibilities of the group members, 4. Methods for activities and conditions of illegality, 5. Foundation Grupi Revolucionar ,6. lhe method of profit from the youth members, etc. It can easily be said that the newspaper Zen ι Kosovës marks me continuation of the illegal communication that has been created and formed for decades in Kosovo, where the newspaper itself is the evidence of our 511 Shtypi ilegal shqiptar në Kosově (1945 - 1999) existence, the evidence of knowing and not knowing, of our eternal strength, and our walk through our dreams through time. The writings in this newspaper are simple. They are strong writings that in themselves contain love for the country and for the freedom we never had but for which we never stopped fighting for. The writings are inspired from the daily activities and the language used is simple and it does not need explanations or comments. The newspaper writings are not only read attentively but they also offer us the truths of time, and automatically these writings are converted into objective values of historical data. After the conversion of Grapit Revolucionar into OMLK , the publishing activity of this organization was intensified significantly. Except one edition of poetry, the permanent duty of the organization was the publication and distribution of newspapers. Besides the newspaper with the name Trakt , which was distributed for the 100* year of Lidhja e Prizrenit, this organization had also distributed this newspaper on the day the president of Jugoslavia visited. During the registration of the population, the members of OMLK reacted through another issue which was distributed in Skopje. As usual, the illegal press initially was printed in the A-4 format since there were no other more sophisticated techniques available. The informative organ of OMLK was also printed in this format. The newspaper Liria which on the cover page had the national flag with the star and the sentence Proletarians of all oppressed countries, unite . Also, on the cover was put the preface and which was called LIRIA and in continuation follow the reasons why the newspaper started its publishing, its mission and the messages it sends to the people. In this text, based on the analysis I have done, it can be concluded that the writings have been done by the editorial members. In the framework 512 Prof. Dr. Sabile Keçmezi - Basha of this organization, it is noted that Liria should be published as an informative organ of this organization. During October 1980, with the involvement of Kadri Zeka, the first issue of this newspaper was published. The second issue came out during December of the same year. After the demonstrations of 1981, the members of this organization increased its activity through the writing of texts, poetiy, and slogans for the people. All of these were published in Liria and some others less known. In the meantime they prepared other issues of this newspaper but die enemy was quick to reply and arrested all the members, after raiding the houses where they found handwritten materials including Kosova nën regjimin titist . OMLK was published in total of seven issues, and it has informed the wider opinion for everything that was happening in Kosovo and other Albanian territories outside of fonner Yugoslavia. The central organ called Revolucioni was an informative newspaper for the wider population and its own members. The first issue was published during 1981, which means right after the student demonstrations of 1981. The first issue contained 16 pages and it was published in the A-4 format, as were the other illegal newspapers at the time, and the writings were not published with the real names of the authors since the conspiracies between the organization members could be deep and dangerous. . . Zeri i Atdheuť , was published since the beginning ot the organization as an internal newspaper, for the needs ot internal information of the communist youth. According to the data found, on the cover of this newspaper it stated that this newspaper was published by the «ţ^™.™. ™* communist Marxist Leninist Albanian you* °f RSFJ. A 50 on the cover was put the logo of *j£™%?m Republic of Yugoslavia in 513 ______ Shtypi ilegal shqiptar në Kosově (1945 - 1999)______ 1981. The materials typed with the typewriter were formatted in A-4. The newspaper had 11 pages and it included informative articles as well as patriotic poetry which had no authors. While researching court archives of Kosovo and through court materials and illegal press mentioned above, I have found a piece of paper of an organization that was unknown to me previously. This newspaper had informed the public for its activities and its aims. It also talks about the history of this movement, from the past to the present. This material was distributed with the aim to be copied in Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and other Albanian locations in Serbia. The motto of this paper was Peace and national unification of all the Albanian territories . The members of this illegal movement during the years of 1945-1999, have applied a lot of different forms of illegal activities. Their primary activity was the cooperation of all the illegal organizations. Through this communication they created the sensibilization that was existent at the time in the country. On one hand, the population was reminded not to forget the history and to induce reaction against the injustice done to the Albanian population. Besides the direct contacts with different activists, they were occupied in developing different fonns of involvement such as the distribution of the literature and illegal press. Also, they started the distribution of the slogans that were mainly political. The main aim was to inform the population of any historical and politic issues. In order to show their unhappiness and injustices, the illegal organizations in Kosovo started creating contacts with people through political slogans. The illegal Albanian movement applied another method that was shown to be very effective and this was through caricatures. The naming of the children with historical meanings, including city and county names, showed the family status 514 Prof. Dr. Sabile Keçmezi - ßasha in national and intellectual levels at the time. During different historical periods, the people have named their children according to political events. During the period after the Second World War, there were very few families that named their children with names that had Albanian meanings. After the Second World War we can find names such as: Bashkim, Partizan, Afërditë, Dritè, Lirie, Patriot, Luftètar and others that show the desire and love for national unifications. 515
