Abstract:What is Rodrigo Lefèvre's place in the history of Brazilian architecture? To what extent have his ideas remained? Questions like these guided Ana Paula Koury in selecting the texts in this book and organizing them into four parts. In the first, articles written from the 1964 coup to 1971 criticize developmentalism and its architecture. In the second, texts from 1968 to 1979 address the teaching of architecture. In the third, articles from 1978 to 1981 analyze urbanization and the housing market. On the fourth, Lefèvre's master's dissertation, defended in 1981, is published for the first time. The relationship between architecture and political project, aesthetics and historical reality, is evident in all his precise and current work. The assembled texts precede a multiple and transverse presentation of Lefèvre's trajectory, while a bibliography of him concludes the volume
