Zusammenfassung: | The essays in this volume are written by leading economists working on the Indian economy. They collectively emphasize the importance of policies and institutions for sustained growth and poverty reduction, stressing that the success of sector-specific policies is vitally dependent on the nature of markets and the functioning of institutions such as those charged with regulating and overseeing critical sectors. Individual contributions assess the role of Indian government policy in key sectors and emphasize the policies required to ensure improvements in these sectors. The first section discusses aspects of the macro economy; the second deals with agriculture and social sectors; the third with jobs and how labor markets function in agriculture, industry and services; and the fourth with infrastructure services, specifically electricity, telecommunications and transport. The essays are drawn from the most influential papers presented in recent years on Indian economic policy at the Stanford Center for International Development |

Wolak Moving India: the political economy of transport sector reform Jessica S. Wallack and N.K. Singh The essays in this volume are written by leading economists working on the Indian economy. The essays are drawn from the most influential papers presented in recent years on Indian economic policy at the Stanford Center for International Development Wirtschaftspolitik Arbeitsmarkt (DE-588)4002733-8 gnd rswk-swf Nonprofit-Bereich (DE-588)4115404-6 gnd rswk-swf Landwirtschaft (DE-588)4034402-2 gnd rswk-swf Elektrizitätswirtschaft (DE-588)4014228-0 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftspolitik (DE-588)4066493-4 gnd rswk-swf Verkehrswirtschaft (DE-588)4062992-2 gnd rswk-swf Makroökonomie (DE-588)4037174-8 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftsentwicklung (DE-588)4066438-7 gnd rswk-swf Telekommunikationswirtschaft (DE-588)4227329-8 gnd rswk-swf Indien India Economic policy 1991- Indien (DE-588)4026722-2 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Indien (DE-588)4026722-2 g Makroökonomie (DE-588)4037174-8 s Landwirtschaft (DE-588)4034402-2 s Nonprofit-Bereich (DE-588)4115404-6 s Arbeitsmarkt (DE-588)4002733-8 s Elektrizitätswirtschaft (DE-588)4014228-0 s Telekommunikationswirtschaft (DE-588)4227329-8 s Verkehrswirtschaft (DE-588)4062992-2 s DE-188 Wirtschaftspolitik (DE-588)4066493-4 s Wirtschaftsentwicklung (DE-588)4066438-7 s 1\p DE-604 Hope, Nicholas C. edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-1-107-02004-7 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-1-107-43680-0 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9781139096638 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
