Erklärt werden neben den wichtigsten Grundlagen und Konzepten von UNIX die Beschaffung, Installation und Konfiguration von Linux. Schwerpunkte bilden dabei die graphische Oberfläche, die Netzwerkfähigkeit und die Tools des GNU-Projekts. Außerdem wird die Entwicklungsumgebung mit ihren zahlreichen Programmiersprachen und Werkzeugen dargestellt. Ein weiteres Kapitel stellt einige der interessantesten Linux-Applikationen vor. Den Abschluß bildet eine Kurzreferenz der wichtigsten Linux-Kommandos. Das Buch zeichnet sich durch einen praxisnahen Stil sowie viele Abbildungen und Beispiele aus, die dem Leser einen einfachen Zugang zu dieser Thematik ermöglichen |
