Adam Sedgwick 1832 mini|Adam Sedgwick 1832 Adam Sedgwick (* 22. März 1785 in Dent, Yorkshire; † 27. Januar 1873 in Cambridge) war einer der Begründer der modernen Geologie. Er schlug sowohl die Devon- als auch die Kambrium-Periode als Bestandteile für die geologische Zeitskala vor.
