Chr.]] Ein Held (althochdeutsch ') bzw. eine Heldin ist eine reale oder fiktive Person, die außergewöhnliche körperliche oder geistige Leistungen erbringt und dabei oft eigene Nachteile in Kauf nimmt. Dadurch ragt er aus einer sozialen Gruppe heraus, für die er identitätsstiftende Funktionen übernimmt, indem er ihre Wertvorstellungen idealtypisch verkörpert und von ihr in Mythos, Geschichte, Literatur, Ritual usw. immer wieder vergegenwärtigt wird. Diese Vergegenwärtigungen können sich auch propagandistisch auf bloß imaginierte oder übertriebene Leistungen beziehen. Heldentum ist immer eine Zuschreibung.

Im Unterschied dazu versteht man unter dem Helden in einer Erzählung den Protagonisten, die handlungstragende Hauptfigur, die als Antiheld aber auch negativ gezeichnet sein kann. Die Eigenschaft, ein Held zu sein, nennt man Heldentum oder Heroismus'''. Veröffentlicht in Wikipedia
