1A further illustration of Messrs. Grundy's Scheme, for restoring and making perfect, the navigation of the River Witham, from Boston to Lincoln; and also for draining the low lands and fens contiguous thereto: Mr. Coppin's Scheme is here answer'd, by such stated facts, as demonstrate the said scheme to be drawn from false data, and wrong principles; contrary to experience, and the practice of the most noted drainers in the two last centuries, and opposite to the three great laws of nature. Publish'd for the use of such nobleman, gentlemen, merchants, and others, whose interest is herein concern'd. By John Grundy, agent and engineer to the honourable adventurers of deeping fensVeröffentlicht 1745Signatur: Wird geladen …

3Philosophical and mathematical reasons: Humbly offer'd to the Consideration of the publick: to prove that the present works, executing at Chester, to recover and preserve the navigation of the river Dee must intirely destroy the same. With some remarks on Mr. Badeslade's reasons, &c. thereon. By their most humble servant, John Grundy Of Congestone, in the County of Leicester, Land-Surveyor, and Teacher of the MathematicsVeröffentlicht 1736Signatur: Wird geladen …

4An examination and refutation of Mr. Badeslade's New-Cut canal, &c: by quotations from his own words, as well as from observations and experiments made upon the River Welland, and the country adjacent, in the Years 1731, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Done for the use of drainers. Also, scholiums drawn from the said Quotations; and Observations, &c. which fully prove, that Mr. Badeslade was wrong inform'd with regard to spalding river, and Captain Perry's Proceedings, when he wrote his First Book of Chester, &c. Likewise, That the parallel Instances the said Gentleman hath brought in his First Book of Reasons, &c. betwixt spalding river, and the New-Cut Canal at Chester, are not altogether such, from what he hath said in his New-Cut Canal, &c. except it may be prov'd that 8 is equal to 2. To which is added, scholiums and corollaries, which prove, that Mr. Badeslade hath refuted his First Book of Reasons, &c. by his New-Cut Canal, &c. and that he hath wrested several Parts of my First Book of Remarks, &c. (without any Regard to Truth) to such Meanings as were never intended by me. Also, propositions and corollaries, which demonstrate, that Water will move and run, at a Descent of 4 Inches in each Mile; and that no accurate Levels can be taken by the High-Water Marks of the same Tide, at two far distant Places: With a Defence of my Method of taking of Levels, from actual Experiments I have made before different Persons, and in different Places.
